VaccinationsVaccination is a time honored method of providing a safe exposure to a disease to promote immunity without making them sick. It is an important part of your pet’s health care program but must be done properly.

Puppies should receive a distemper/parvo vaccine at eight, 11, and 14 weeks of age. Starting shots at six weeks does not help and may actually harm the young pup. Dr. Kincaid does not recommend Leptospirosis and other vaccines in the Anthony area. Too many vaccines can cause hyper sensitivity reactions. Kittens should start vaccines at 10 weeks of age, and rotate through the distemper and leukemia vaccine rather than do both together.

Adult pets vaccine programs can vary depending on their health, age and where they live. Dr. Kincaid will advise his clients on the best program for their pets.
